Welcome Letters 2017
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!
On behalf of the Association of Mining and Metallurgical Industry I would like to warmly welcome the organisers and participants of XIII Central Asian International Exhibition and Conference for Environmental Technologies and Green Innovations “Eco Tech 2017”.
The exhibition “Eco Tech 2017” demonstrates Kazakhstan’s adherence to the idea of the green economy development. And this is not a tribute to fashion, but an important tool to ensure sustainable development of the country. The green economy is defined as an economy with high quality of life of the population, careful and rational use of natural resources for the benefit of present and future generations. The transition to the “green” path of development will allow Kazakhstan to achieve its goal of becoming one of the 30 most developed countries in the world.
Kazakhstan is taking concrete steps in the development of the green economy. To consolidate common efforts at the world level, the Head of State at the 66th session of the UN General Assembly initiated the partnership program “Green Bridge”, the mission of which is to manage the green economic growth through international cooperation, assistance in the exchange of technology and experience, and financial support.
Our country adopted the Conception on the transition to the green economy, according to which by 2050 the transformations within the green economy will allow to increase GDP by 3%, to create more than 500 thousand new jobs, to form new branches of industry and service sector, ensure high standards of quality of life nationwide.
The International Exhibition “Astana EXPO-2017”, dedicated to the theme “Energy of the Future” will be the landmark project. It reflects the international community’s concern about energy consumption, which is increasingly influencing the planet.
The establishment of the International Center of Green Technologies and Investment Projects in Astana was initiated under the auspices of the UN, the main task of which will be to support the formation of sustainable grounds necessary for the development of such areas of the green economy as renewable energy sources and eco-friendly technologies, as well as strengthening of international cooperation. In particular, the center will ensure the interaction of countries on the transfer of green technologies.
The enterprises of the mining and metallurgical complex do not remain outside of this current trend. The companies are actively introducing progressive technologies that minimize the negative impact on the environment. The green innovations contribute to increasing energy and resource saving, reducing discharges and emissions of harmful substances, recycling and processing of waste, the use of high-tech equipment in production.
The priority is given to the environmental part, along with the economic one in the construction of new facilities and modernization of existing ones in the industry.
We hope that the International Exhibition and Conference “Eco Tech 2017” will make significant contribution to the promotion and introduction of advanced environmental technologies and green innovations! We wish you interesting and fruitful meetings and mutually beneficial contacts!

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!
On behalf of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan I am pleased to welcome all the participants, organisers and guests of the two expo events: the 7th Kazakhstan International Occupational Safety and Health Conference and Exhibition - KIOSH-2017 and the 13th Central Asian International Exhibition and Conference for Environmental Technologies and Green Innovations – “Eco Tech-2017”.
Today, our future directly depends on how we manage our resources. The return of resources to production cycles and the use of unique technologies in the sphere of waste management, alternative energy, resource-saving technologies and water treatment will reduce the impact on the environment, which will be an effective tool for reformatting the economy into the innovative one. Building environmental awareness, environmental responsibility of producers and the transition to a “green” scenario of the development of the economy’s key sectors are one of the main tasks that will enable us to solve a whole range of problems, which will result in better working conditions and the reduction in risks to the environment. For this very reason holding specialized exhibitions, that have already become a traditional show of achievements in the sphere of industrial safety and eco-friendly technologies, is becoming more relevant.
Due to fundamentally new innovative proposals for green modernization, the exchange of experience in the sphere of occupational safety and health, the introduction of sustainable equipment, the development of infrastructure for waste disposal, close communication of visitors and participants the exhibitions unite and strengthen the ties between producers, suppliers and consumers directly and, as a result, contribute to the development of small and medium-sized businesses of our countries.
We are very pleased to participate in the exhibitions of the Russian companies, which is proof of their successful work on this market.
From the bottom of my heart I wish all participants and guests of the exhibition successful fruitful work, achieving their goals, expansion of the scope of business partnership and cooperation!
Trade Representative
of the Russian Federation
in the Republic of Kazakhstan
A.V. Yakovlev
